We’ve assembled a guide to navigating Mardi Gras 2019, because you’re worth it. Whether you’re visiting New Orleans for your first Mardi Gras, or you’re a local trying to figure out how you’re going to get to work on Sunday, we’ve got you covered.

Check out the full parade schedule, plus the routes and road closures below. Happy Mardi Gras!

Parade Schedule

Road Closures

Most parades stick to the same route. They start Uptown, at Jefferson and Magazine Street. They proceed up Magazine to Napoleon. They head a few blocks up Napoleon and turn right onto St. Charles. This is the main stretch of the parade, as it head east along St. Charles, through Lee Circle and into downtown. There it turns onto Canal. Then it turns down Tchoupitoulas for the final leg of the journey, ending at the intersection of St. Joseph.

Police close the roads down two hours prior to the parade’s scheduled start time. Effectively, this cuts Uptown in half. If you get trapped on one side of the St Charles you have to go all the way west past Jefferson to get across.

Endymion is the Mid City parade, and it’s route is a little different.
