One of the most notable NFL agents, Joel Segal, has been appointed as the CEO of Lagardere Sports’ North American business operations. While he will continue to be the President of Football, Segal will bring his expertise that he exerts into his football division to the entirety of the company’s operations.
CEO of Lagardere Sports and Entertainment, Ugo Valensi
released a statement regarding the promotion of Segal. “Joel’s drive to succeed
is easily apparent and is illustrated by his long career as one of the most
prominent talent agents in all of sports,” said Valensi. “His passion and long
track record of leading a thriving sports business makes him the ideal person
to lead the entirety of our North American operations.”
“I am a football agent to the core, always will be and that
will remain the same,” said Segal. “I am grateful for this opportunity and am
excited to work more closely with our great teammates and business leaders at
Lagardere Sports as we grow our businesses going forward.”
Segal joined Lagardere Sports in 2010 as President of
Football before becoming President of Team Sports in 2016. He spearheaded
Lagardere’s efforts to pursue both coaching and broadcasting representation practices.
Segal’s clientele includes more than 70 NFL players, 48 of
whom have been first round draft picks. Patrick Peterson, Khalil Mack along
with 2019 first round draft picks DE Josh Allen and DE Clelin Ferrell are among
a few of the superstars that Segal represents.
