How did you get involved in bar service?
I got involved with my local bar and legal community, which has led me to more opportunities, including serving on the TYLA board.
What is your favorite TYLA project and why?
All of our projects for FEMA and natural disasters (see https://tyla.org/disaster-relief-resources/). It was amazing to see everyone come together after Hurricane Harvey to create resources so quickly.
What tips can you give to other attorneys to manage stress?
Focus on the variables in your control and let the rest go. Stress can be paralyzing, and understanding your own unique way of managing stress is imperative.
What do you do in your spare time?
Sleep, Dallas Cowboys, eat donuts, swim, and mother my baby girls—Nutmeg and Poppy.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
Before any hearing or trial, I go to the courthouse restroom, I look in the mirror, and say, “It’s Showtime”—jazz hands and all. Better Call Saul style.

I’m Extra. Not like the gum.
