PFAS State Survey: Standards and Guidance Values for PFAS in Groundwater, Drinking Water and Surface Water

In addition to the state standards and guidance, U.S. EPA has set a Health Advisory Level (“HAL”) of 70 parts per trillion (ppt) of PFOA and PFOS in drinking water; a regional screening level (“RSL”) for PFBS (Perfluorobutane sulfonate and Perfluorobutane sulfonic acid) of 400 µg/L (parts per billion) in tap water, and an interim recommended screening level for PFOS and PFOA in groundwater potentially affecting drinking water at CERCLA and RCRA sites of 40 ppt (parts per trillion).
