“There is no light switch here… it’s more like a dimmer, toggling back and forth between more restrictive and less restrictive; more individual responsibility, especially for those that have been exposed.
More enforcement and more vigilance.”

~ Governor Gavin Newsom (CA), at a press briefing today discussing the framework the
state will use to adjust stay at home orders and other restrictions going forward

Foley’s Coronavirus Task Force presents its 50-State Emergency Order Tracker, which includes links to view state and local emergency orders in place throughout the United States. In addition, Foley now offers, as a fee-based service to its clients, the enhanced 50-State Emergency Order Tracker: Roadmap to Restart, which provides a both detailed and updated analysis of each state’s mandates to help businesses inform their complex legal and operational decisions, as well as weekly updates regarding changes to the emergency orders. The Roadmap to Restart offers Foley’s clients specific details regarding the impact of emergency orders across industries, including essential services, manufacturing, transportation, residential and commercial construction, retail, services, restaurants and hotels, and more.

As mitigation measures begin to show positive results, state and local units of government are expected to ease emergency restrictions with a goal of restarting the economy. Companies will need to understand the changing rules for operating in their home state, as well as the impacts for their suppliers or customers located in other states. Foley’s Roadmap to Restart provides updated insights essential to helping companies manage both business and legal considerations as emergency orders are eased.
