Boras Corp. Inks Top Prospect

Jon Heyman announced on Twitter that top Detroit Tigers pitching prospect, Matt Manning, has signed with The Boras Corporation. The former 9th overall pick of the 2016 MLB Draft out of out of Sheldon High School (CA) has posted a career Minor League ERA of 3.04 over the course of 70 games with 410 strikeouts, for a record of 22-17.

Manning most recently pitched for the AA Erie SeaWolves in 2019, where he went 11-5 with a 2.56 ERA in 113.2 innings pitched. He is currently the 12th best prospect in baseball according to FanGraphs and the 17th best according to Baseball America. Many prospect evaluators expect Manning to make his MLB debut at some point during the 2021 season.

Scott Boras is widely viewed as one of the premier agents in baseball. As of October 2019, Forbes estimates that Boras Corp. collects roughly $118.8M in commissions among its 66 clients.
