Athletes First recently announced the hiring of former Washington Football Team Senior VP of Football Operations and General Counsel Eric Schaffer, in a role that focuses on their coaching and front office division.
In a press release from the agency, Co-Founder and CEO David Dunn was quoted saying “Athletes First’s certified agents have tremendous respect and admiration for Eric after negotiating countless deals with him over the last 17 years.”
Through his business dealings, Schaffer has earned the respect from both league personnel and agents. Two-time Super Bowl winning head coach Mike Shanahan was quoted as saying, “what separates Eric, in my opinion, is his depth of knowledge in so many different areas within football operations and the business side of football.”
Schaffer’s intelligence, integrity and work ethic are a common theme from the responses around the industry. Athlete Firsts added a valuable member to their organization.
Schaffer ended his tenure with Washington in January.
