Southern California is famous for its traffic jams. One now-recurring jam is a direct result of U.S. government measures attributed to halting the spread of the coronavirus. The Los Angeles Times reports that the latest move by Customs and Border Protection to slow traffic from Mexico into the U.S. has caused border traffic jams stretching for miles and waits exceeding 10 hours for those crossing at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Border officials say the action is designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and make people “think twice” about crossing the border.
