2020 had proved to be a year of uncertainty for a lot of families and businesses. With the holiday season upon us, many athletes around the country have continued to step up and help their communities. From the NFL to the NHL, players are doing their part to ensure everyone can have a safe and joyous Holiday Season.

National Football League Player’s Association (NFLPA) coined the phrase #AthleteAnd to show the versatility that NFL players have off the field; players have proven to be business owners, photographers, directors, scientists, and most importantly philanthropists.

In Miami, FL. many organizations, athletes, celebrities, police and fire departments, banded together to assist those impacted by COVID-19.

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson lended a helping hand by hosting the 5th annual Albert Wilson Foundation Thanksgiving Food Drive which took place last Sunday; with the help of Vitality Sports Management and County Line Chiropractic Centers, the food drive fed 500 families in South Florida. “2020 has been filled with ups and downs so we felt it was vital to find a way to overcome the hurdles in order to bring hope to the Miami Gardens community. The opportunity to partner with a likeminded service driven company like Vitality Sports Management falls right in line with our foundation’s goal of being more intentional about what we do and who we work with. ” – Jamaal May, Executive Director of Albert Wilson Foundation said.

This was Vitality Sports Management’s first event and Founder and CEO, Denzel McCoy was excited to partner with the Albert Wilson Foundation for this much needed community program. “We were thrilled to be able to partner with the Albert Wilson Foundation and give back to the Miami Gardens community today with our tremendous sponsors Sprouts Farmers Market and County Line Chiropractic  centers! We look forward to serving South Florida communities for years to come.”

Athletes understand the platform they have by serving as role models for the next generation and events like this show that they are more than fierce competitors on the football field. Albert Wilson said “We strive to create opportunities and give hope to the people and the communities we serve. To be able to provide and be a blessing to others in times like these mean a lot and I’m proud of everyone that came together to make it happen.”

Down the road, NFL free agent and Miami native Kayvon Webster also hosted a Thanksgiving Food Drive for Miami residents which was held at Webster’s new restaurant lounge Vybe305 ( 486 N.E. 167th Street, Miami, FL. 33162).

Webster’s Gamechanger’s Foundation partnered with former Senator Daphne Campbell to host the food drive. Webster said “Thanksgiving is a time where we get to come together as a family , a break from the world where we really get to enjoy each other to see what’s new and reminisce on the old times and figure out how we can get further together ! Not only is it about the delicious food but the well being of our culture as a family.”
