Hello Divorce Founder Erin Levine spoke with Bloomberg Law regarding a recent and surprising decision by the Washington State Supreme Court to wind down their Limited License Legal Technician program. The program, intended to allow people with the LLLT certification to assist with family law matters at a lower cost than traditionally licensed attorneys, ends in July 2021 with the state’s Supreme Court citing lack of interest and cost as a barrier to continuing the program.

“I’m concerned that other states will not consider a similar professional offering because of the ‘lack of interest in it,’” says Levine, “or that it wasn’t a money maker.”
