ABC v Slowiaczek [2021] NSWSC 330 (available on Caselaw) is a very short judgement, but is of interest for the context in which a pseudonym order was made.

The plaintiff wished to institute proceedings claiming damages against a health professional who treated her over an extended period of time and was alleged to have inappropriately formed a sexual relationship with her.

The evidence before the Court included expert evidence on the plaintiff’s mental health history and that the plaintiff, when involved in proceedings in the Health Care Complaints Commission, received threatening and unpleasant communications through social media and otherwise as a result of her complaints about the proposed defendant.

A pseudonym and non publication order was made.
