The FCC has granted a petition from Kinéis, a French satellite company, to offer satellite services in the U.S. market to support Internet of Things devices and provide improvements to maritime communication.  Kinéis had petitioned the FCC for U.S. market access using frequencies of the non-voice, non-geostationary mobile-satellite service and earth exploration-satellite service through a constellation of 25 small, low-Earth orbit satellites that would be authorized by France.   Subject to various conditions, Kinéis will now have U.S. market access in the 399.9-400.5 MHz and 401-403 MHz uplink bands and in the 400.15-401 MHz downlink band.
