Reflections on Water, a website and accompanying podcast dedicated to tracking developments in water law and policy, was recently launched by Troutman Pepper’s highly regarded Water Quality and Water Resources practice. Recognized by Chambers USA, attorneys in this practice have advised clients on virtually every issue related to water quality, from strategic planning to permitting, compliance, enforcement defense, and litigation.

Dave Ross, a former assistant administrator for the Office of Water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) noted that, “With Reflections on Water, our goal is to provide a multi-faceted resource that covers developments in water law and policy with timely insight on why those developments matter.” Reflections on Water will offer a steady tide of current event updates, in-depth articles on key issues, and an occasional podcast with interviews and insights from national water sector leaders.

Ross will co-host the Reflections podcast with Anna Wildeman, drawing on their decades-long experience in the public and private sectors and most recently leading EPA’s Office of Water. Wildeman, a former principal deputy assistant administrator for the Office of Water said, “There is so much going on right now in the water space – at multiple federal agencies, at the U.S. Supreme Court, and even in Congress with the recent infrastructure bill. We are excited for the opportunity to connect with water sector leaders and provide timely and relevant commentary on key developments.”

The first podcast features an interview with Radhika Fox, the current assistant administrator for EPA’s Office of Water under President Biden. Ross and Fox discuss their shared experience running the Office of Water and Fox’s priorities for 2022 and beyond.

“Our national environmental practice is dedicated to providing exceptional value to clients given the depth and breadth of our collective experience and knowledge, and this new offering from our water team is just another example of how we deliver that value,” said Troutman Pepper Environmental and Natural Resources Practice Group Chair Catherine Little, who is renowned for her strategic compliance and enforcement defense work, particularly for the energy industry.

Troutman Pepper’s Environmental and Natural Resources Practice Group helps clients navigate critical environmental issues in the context of complex litigation, compliance, enforcement, and transactional matters. The group includes 40+ attorneys with valuable government, industry and technical experience, who provide a unique perspective to address the rapidly evolving federal, state, and local environmental issues that clients face on a day-to-day basis.
