State and Federal PFAS Litigation – 2019 to 2021

PFAS-related litigation continues to accelerate.  As shown in the attached graphics, there were more than 2,000 cases in the Multi-District Litigation in the federal district court in South Carolina by mid-January 2022.  The bulk of those cases are brought on behalf of individuals, but, for example, municipalities and water suppliers are plaintiffs as well.  On the state-court front, the cases caught by our process include concentrations in Michigan, New York, California and Pennsylvania.  We will update this graphic on a quarterly basis.  A more up-to-date version of this graphic exists.
