On May 20, 2022, the White House announced that President Joe Biden renominated current FERC Chairman Richard Glick for a second, five-year term as a member and Chairman of the Commission.  Glick’s current term expires June 30, 2022.

Glick joined the Commission in 2017 after being nominated by then-President Donald Trump.  Glick was elevated to FERC Chairman by President Biden in January 2021.  Under Glick’s leadership, the Commission has begun to address potentially significant reforms to transmission planning and cost allocation and updates to its natural gas pipeline policy statement, including how the Commission would consider greenhouse gas emissions in its natural gas certificate project reviews.

Going forward, Glick’s renomination will require confirmation by the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

The White House’s announcement can be found here.
