The teams at InfoTrack and One Legal are so excited to share another year of learning, networking, and growth at Legal Up 2023 on April 27 and 28. If you haven’t already gotten a free pass to attend this virtual event, get yours here.

Every year, Legal Up gets better. The 2023 lineup is packed with more than 30 educational sessions, hours of live entertainment, 5+ hours of California CLE credits, networking opportunities, and more.

Not in California and still want your CLE? No problem. Most states accept CLE from accredited out-of-state providers with a few minor requirements. Download this free guidebook to see how to transfer those credits to your state.

You’re just days away from enjoying Legal Up 2023. Since we know you can hardly wait, here’s a peek behind the scenes at what you can expect this year.

Legal Up speakers give a preview of their topics

See the full Legal Up schedule here. With so many insightful and interesting webinars scheduled, there’s no way we can explore all of them in this blog post. Fortunately, all sessions will be recorded and you’ll have 3 weeks to access them and watch (or re-watch) them after the live event.

Make sure you tune in for these can’t-miss events:

Legal Tetris: understanding the software stack early by Tiffany Sams

Does software give you a headache? Tiffany is here to discuss how it’s worth taking the time to automate everything because it makes you a more reliable lawyer.

Tiffany Sams is the founder of PathLight Legal Corporation and a passionate advocate for access to justice. She strongly believes that legal professionals can and should use technology to better serve their clients in need.

We asked Tiffany to give us an exclusive preview of this session.

“I will share a checklist of criteria to evaluate cloud based practice management tools,” she said. As an added piece of advice, she shared: “Be open to new ways to do old tasks.”

Tiffany is sure to give you a clear, actionable way to choose software that is going to make a real impact. If you’ve ever struggled to find a piece of legal tech that lives up to its promises, don’t miss this class.

As an added bonus, Tiffany will also participate in our highly anticipated AI vs. Attorney session where legal minds go up against the latest in AI technology. We’re eager to hear her thoughts on AI-generated legal advice. Are you?

Thinking like a businessperson by Joshua Bonnici

Law isn’t just law, it’s a business too. We’ll discuss how to use business-minded thinking to vault your practice to new levels.

Joshua Bonnici is the Managing Attorney at Bonnici Law Group, APC. He’s also the current vice-chair of the Executive Committee of the Solo/Small Firm Section of California Lawyers Association and past editor-in-chief of their state-wide publication “The Practitioner.”

When it comes to the topic of growing your practice, Joshua is quite the expert. Just take a look at his experience:

“I started and grew a plaintiff’s injury and disability firm from the ground up two years after graduating law school. Since then, I have grown the firm to be a multi-million dollar boutique firm niched in representing injured bicyclists and appealing long-term disability claims.”

You can expect pointed advice from his session on thinking like a businessperson.

We asked for one extra tidbit of advice for people who want to adopt this mentality, and here’s what Joshua said:

“Get coaching and don’t be afraid of taking some business risks. Make sure to sharpen the knife on both ends – as a zealous advocate for your clients and as a savvy business person to make sure your firm runs like a well-oiled-machine behind the scenes.”

Confidence & imposter syndrome by Claire E Parsons

How can anyone who regularly deals with risk, changing circumstances, adversity, and the stress of conflict expect to feel confident? We’ll discuss essential mindfulness skills for maintaining a law practice AND a happy life.

Claire E Parsons is a founder, blogger, and meditation teacher. She’s also a returning speaker this year — her session at Legal Up 2022 was highly popular and inspiring. As an employment, litigation, and local government lawyer at a mid-sized firm in Cincinnati, she knows first-hand the pressures of the legal industry.

Thinking about joining her session? Here’s what to expect in Claire’s own words:

“Lots of people offer tips and strategies to ‘overcome’ anxiety or get rid of it in order to build confidence. My session is about thinking about confidence in a new and more realistic way. You don’t have to beat fear or eradicate anxiety from your life to be confident. Instead, having some skills and practices to manage fear so you can act is the key. My session is about building those skills.”

Claire’s session is eligible for California CLE credits, too!

Getting the most out of your Legal Up experience

You’re excited to dive in and learn from amazing speakers like these. (Remember, get your free pass here so you can attend.) But there’s so much more to Legal Up than the educational sessions.

Networking at Legal Up

You’ll have plenty of dedicated opportunities to connect and network with like-minded legal professionals around the country. Take advantage of those opportunities to expand your circle.

The sessions are a great chance to network, too. Use the built-in chat feature to join the discussion during live workshops.

Our InfoTrack partners will be in attendance, too. If you’ve ever wondered about using a practice management or document management system, take this chance to speak directly to a team member and get answers to all of your questions.

Earning CLE

Many sessions are CLE eligible, which means that you can meet some of your continuing learning requirements by attending. Certificates will be available at the end of the session.

If you’re not located in California, you can still earn CLE depending on your state’s guidelines and requirements. Most states have some kind of mechanism available to transfer CLE credits. Use our free guide at the top of this article to see how to transfer those credits to your state.

Entertainment and relaxation

One of the best things about Legal Up is that you can take a break, find the right mental space, and jump back in at your own pace.

Join our live yoga instructor, jam with our live musician, or relax and chat with other attendees in the virtual break room between sessions. You get to design your own virtual experience.

Accessing your recordings

Can’t make those early morning webinars? Are there two sessions you want to attend, but they happen at the same time?

Don’t worry. You’ll have access to all Legal Up sessions — including the entertainment and wellness options — for three weeks after the close of the event.

This gives you the chance to learn at your own pace, revisit a topic you want to explore, or catch up on sessions you couldn’t make during the live broadcast. However, you have to register before the start of the event to access these recordings. Make sure you’ve signed up for your free pass so you don’t miss out!

Your access link will be sent to your email at the close of the event.

See you there!

We are so looking forward to seeing you at Legal Up 2023. Don’t miss it!
