The American Foreign Service Association and the American Federation of Government Employees have filed a complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief against President Donald Trump, the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Treasury Department to stop their efforts to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development. The complaint states that "pursuant to federal statute, Congress is the only entity that may lawfully dismantle the agency" and it seeks a temporary restraining order directing the defendants to reverse those unlawful actions and stop any further steps to dissolve USAID.
