Free Update Fixes Biggest Kindle Scribe Complaint The new update to my Kindle Scribe software is part of the reason I bought a Kindle in the first place. By adding note taking and Eink capabilities to the Kindle reading experience, Amazon lapped the field. Everyone complained about the lack of features in the note taking software; but I knew that Amazon had a habit of putting a product out and then updating it until it was the best in class. The latest update builds on the Active Canvas update a while ago. You can now write on any book you are reading, and when you do so, the new update makes a margin for the notes, and even translates them into readable script. The Scribe always has had the best screen, at 300 dpi, as befits the company that gave us the first Kindles. I haven’t used yellow legal pads in several years, and all my notes and scribbles are safely saved in digital form. I use the Scribe as a daily calendar, and diary my day on the calendar by writing on the Scribe. How are you taking, and preserving, your calendar and notes?
