I have been defending Elon Musk recently from the onslaught of negative publicity surrounding his entry into the political world. We tend to lionize our geniuses for a while; but then the mob that calls itself humanity goes on the attack. It is a sad thing to witness, and I will not be silent as false charges are made against a man who should be celebrated by humankind. Just the latest example is the merger between T-Mobile cell phone service and the Starlink satellite system. Connecting all of us on the planet with communication via satellite is the vision of Mr. Musk. But, not only a vision. When he has such a vision, he actually gets the job done. Starting in July, T-Mobile customers will have the ability to text, and ultimately call, from any spot on the planet, using the Starlink satellites. Charge? $10 a month for T-Mobile customers, and $15 a month for everyone else. So, imagine a lonely hiker, lost in the Grand Canyon, who is able to connect to rescuers, or an expectant mom, lost in an auto accident, able to connect to emergency first responders, and then remember whose vision made it possible. If you are criticizing Mr. Musk for accepting the thankless job of cutting out government wasteful spending, you are on the wrong side of history.
