On 23 Dec. 2024, the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation issued the country’s first bilingual “Guide to Registering a Foreign-Invested Company” (外商投资公司登记注册办理指南, hereinafter the “Guide”)and its companion “FAQs for Registration of Foreign-Invested Company” (外商投资公司登记注册常见问题解答). This initiative aims to foster a business-friendly environment for foreign investors in Beijing.
The Guide, the first of its kind in China, uses clear and accessible language while taking into account cultural differences. It provides a straightforward explanation of the procedures, required documents, and other requirements for company registration, thereby enhancing policy transparency.
For example, the Guide addresses key elements of company formation, including selecting an appropriate company name, domicile, shareholders, business scope, registered capital, and key senior executives.
