Guidance on Compliance Challenges in Oil and Gas Industry

I recently authored an article for World Pipelines providing guidance on compliance challenges in the oil and gas industry.

In the article, I highlighted areas of potential international trade regulatory risk including anti-bribery and corruption, economic sanctions, and export and import controls. The article outlines best practices for mitigating each type of risk and emphasizes that efforts to comply with regulations should not be seen as a burden but a core aspect of operational integrity.

“By investing in robust systems, continuous training, and a culture of ethical behavior, companies can turn compliance into a source of resilience and competitive advantage,” I explained. “Ultimately, the cost of non-compliance – in the form of fines, reputational damage, and lost opportunities – far outweighs the investment required to build an effective compliance program.”

The full article, “The American Compliance Frontier,” was published July 14 in World Pipelines and is available online.
