More Moringa Recalled over Salmonella

Total Nutrition Inc. of Deer Park, NY is voluntarily recalling TNVitamins 100% Organic Moringa 1,200 mg Capsules and 100% Organic Moringa Powder following a supplier-initiated recall of the raw Organic Moringa ingredient because of possible Salmonellaexposure. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

The recalled product was distributed nationally through the online platforms, Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and Target, as well as the company’s website, http://www.tnvitamins.com/External Link Disclaimer.

The lot numbers are located on the bottom of the bottle as well as near the barcode on the label. If your lot does not match one of the lots listed above, it is not affected by this recall.

The TNVitamins 100% Organic Moringa 1,200 mg Capsules product is packaged in a white HDPE supplement bottle with a smooth white cap containing 90 clear capsules filled with green organic moringa powder. The TNVitamins 100% Organic Moringa Powderproduct is packaged in a white HDPE jar with a smooth white cap containing 96 grams of green organic moringa powder.

Customers who have purchased the affected products are asked to dispose of them immediately.

Following graduation from law school, Adriana joined Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in Washington, DC, where she represented multi-national corporations in litigation and antitrust matters.  She later worked as a racial justice advocate, authoring a report for the Open Society Justice Initiative titled, Strategic Litigation Impacts: Roma School Desegregation, and co-directing a short advocacy video, Teaching Racism.  Adriana grew passionate about the intersection of food and public health during the time focused on her family.  Prior to joining Marler Clark, Adriana consulted on a potential high-impact public health litigation and co-authored a study on policies that regulate non-sugar sweeteners.

While at law school, Adriana served as a research assistant to Martha Minow, a former Dean of Harvard Law School, and was active on the International Law Journal and with the Harvard Human Rights Program.  She was also the recipient of the Dean’s Scholar Prize in three subjects.

In 2012, Adriana was named one of Forbes 30 under 30 in Law & Policy.

Adriana was born in rural Slovakia.  She now resides on Bainbridge Island, WA, with her husband and two children.
