The following announcement is posted as a courtesy to Prof. Naomi Cahn:
Dear T&E Section Members:
As we prepare for the transition to next year’s officers of the AALS Trusts & Estates Section, we are calling for nominations for an upcoming vacancy in the office of the Secretary and for two vacancies on the Executive Committee.
We have constituted the following Nominations Committee to receive and consider suggestions of persons to serve in these positions: Professors Reid Kress Weisbord, Deborah Gordon, and Philip Hackney. The Nominations Committee will report a slate of nominees to the Section for election by electronic vote prior to the next annual meeting of the AALS.
Per the Section’s, bylaws, “The Secretary shall keep minutes and other records of the Section if and as requested by the Chair or the Executive Committee.” The Secretary has traditionally been delegated responsibility for preparing the annual Section newsletter. The bylaws provide that the Section should have an Executive Committee of 3-6 members; four members will already be serving, as of January 2027.
