Veterans can receive free legal counsel this weekend at the Galveston VA Outpatient Clinic, 3828 Ave. N, in Galveston. On Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to noon, lawyers from the Galveston County Bar Association and the Houston Bar Foundation’s Veterans Legal Initiative will be at the facility to answer questions in any area of law, including family, wills and probate, consumer, real estate and tax, and disability and veterans benefits. Spouses of deceased veterans are also eligible for the clinic. Those needing ongoing legal representation and who qualify for legal aid may be assigned a pro bono attorney to handle the case.

The Houston Bar Foundation also sponsors weekly clinics from 2 to 5 p.m. each Friday at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. For more information, go to hba.org.
