NTCA Asks FCC to Extend Waiver of CAF Performance Testing Requirements

By Alex Espinoza

NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association (NTCA), has asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to “waive limited aspects” of its Connect America Fund (CAF) broadband performance measurement requirements.  The FCC waived certain performance testing obligations in December 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  NTCA asks for at least one additional six-month extension of that waiver, in consideration of supply chain issues preventing operators from obtaining necessary equipment.
