Some observations on the Trump Corp Indictment and Allen Weisselberg's turning himself in –
- It was nice to see that Weisselberg was allowed to turn himself in without be subjected to a "perp walk." Irrespective of who the individual is, or what they are accused of doing, "perp walks" or any type of parading in front of the press, is just plain wrong. Good marks for NY on this one.
- The Indictment tells some interesting things – first that Trump Payroll Corp appears to be separate from the Trump Corp., although both are d/b/a as The Trump Organization.
- That the beneficial owners of the Trump Organization are Donald J. Trump and a revocable trust dated April 7, 2014 named the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust.
- The Indictment states that "the defendants and others devised and operated a scheme to defraud, federal, New York States, and New York City tax authorities." - Where's the indictment from the feds? Is this yet to come?
- The Indictment states that "for certain years, the Trump Organization maintained internal spreadsheets that tracked the amounts it paid for Weisselberg's rent, utility, and garage expenses." – internal speadsheets kind of sounds like the "second set of books?"
