On May 26, 2026, the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (“CISA”), announced a revised schedule of virtual town halls as part of its rulemaking implementing the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act of 2022 (“CIRCIA”). These town halls were initially scheduled for March and April 2026 but were delayed by the lapse in funding for the Department of Homeland Security that ended on April 30, 2026, and are now scheduled to begin on June 15, 2026. The “specific topics of interest” CISA highlighted in its original announcement remain unchanged.
The new schedule differs slightly from the original schedule. CISA originally planned to host five sector-specific town halls scheduled for two hours each. However, the sector-specific town halls are now consolidated into two, four-hour sessions, each covering eight critical infrastructure sectors, as well as two general sessions. All sessions are tentatively scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET on the following dates:
- June 15, 2026: General Session 1
- June 16, 2026: Communications; Dams; Emergency Services; Food and Agriculture; Government Facilities; Healthcare and Public Health; Transportation Systems; and Water and Wastewater Sectors.
- June 17, 2026: General Session 2
- June 18, 2026: Chemical; Commercial Facilities; Critical Manufacturing; Defense Industrial Base; Energy; Financial Services; Information Technology; and Nuclear Reactors, Materials, and Waste Sectors.
