Last month Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced the fling of lawsuit in state court to challenge Hebrew Union College’s plan to close its rabbinical school in Cincinnati at the end of the 2025-26 academic year. The school has existed for more than 150 years. The complaint alleges that the closure violates promises made to donors and others, resulting in unjust enrichment, violation of charitable trust law, and violation of fiduciary duties.
