Herd mentality – Wikipedia. We are all familiar with the phrase “herd mentality” or “mob mentality”. Yesterday, I thought about this as I watched one of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies, “Hang ‘Em High”. In the movie Clint is hanged by a group of ranchers who mistakenly believe that he is a cattle rustler. The movie follows him as he is saved by a U.S. Marshal, becomes one himself, and wreaks vengeance on the perpetrators. In fact, it is a recognized fact that stupid actions can be influenced by our emotional need to be part of a group; which amplifies the bad results from bad decisions. So, become a solo lawyer, and, while you still will do stupid stuff, you will probably do far less of it.
