Ariel focuses her practice on government investigations, compliance programs, and regulatory enforcement actions. Since 2018, Ariel has been assisting the court-appointed Independent Monitor Team in overseeing the implementation of a multi-year consent decree for the Chicago Police Department (CPD). In that role, she has interviewed witnesses and subjects of investigations, reviewed documents produced by the CPD to assess compliance with the consent decree, engaged with the community around crisis intervention, and drafted compliance reports with findings and recommendations.
