Professional Bio
Jonathan K. Nelson is the founder and managing attorney of JK Nelson Law, a full-service litigation firm serving families and individuals across Southern Nevada from four staffed offices in Las Vegas, Summerlin, SW Las Vegas, and Pahrump.
His practice focuses on personal injury, family law, probate and estate planning, criminal defense, and bankruptcy — with particular depth in Nevada probate and Nye County family law matters. He represents clients in both Clark County and Nye County courts and has built a firm designed to provide responsive, attorney-led representation to communities that are often underserved by larger Las Vegas practices.
Jonathan serves on the Board of Directors of the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce, where he previously served as Official Legal Counsel. He is actively involved with local senior centers and community organizations throughout the Pahrump Valley. JK Nelson Law has been named Best of Pahrump every year since 2018 and received six Gold awards in the Best of Las Vegas 2025 competition, including Probate and Estate Planning.
His firm maintains Spanish-speaking staff across all locations to serve Southern Nevada's diverse communities.
Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and is admitted to the State Bar of Nevada and State Bar of Michigan.
He primarily writes about Nevada probate, estate planning, family law, and personal injury topics to help individuals and families understand their legal options before they need a courtroom.
