Laura Flahive Wu

Laura Flahive Wu is an experienced litigator who represents clients in complex litigation, including commercial disputes, class actions, and product liability matters. She has a track record of securing favorable outcomes for her clients in state and federal courts, before arbitral panels, and regulatory bodies. 

A stand-up litigator, Laura is known for her ability to spot critical issues, and clients frequently rely on her to help them rejuvenate their defense in challenging cases. For instance, she has been a key member of the Covington team representing McKesson in the nationwide opioid litigation, including defending nuisance claims and winning a bench trial in West Virginia federal court.

In addition, Laura has experience in class actions and consumer protection matters. Her recent successes include representing a major energy company in a securities class action and resolving an ERISA dispute for a global energy company. Laura co-leads the NFL litigation seeking insurance coverage for concussion-related tort claims and was part of the Covington team that successfully defended the NFL Clubs in a class action brought by retired players alleging improper administration of prescription pain medications. She represents clients throughout the entire life cycle of a case, including through trial, and is recognized for her collaborative approach.
