LexBlog Community 2020 Annual Report. While FutureLawyer posts about many things other than law related topics, it is true that my early mornings are, daily, spent blogging about whatever is interesting that day. My only blogging rule is “don’t be boring”. If it isn’t interesting to me, I don’t blog about it. That said, blogging is a great way for lawyers to communicate, and have conversations with, other human beings who are not in the same geographic location. Technology has greatly expanded our ability to communicate with other humans, wherever they are. Alvin Toffler warned us about the effects of technology expanding our interactions. He called it: “Future Shock”. He defined it thus: “the physical and psychological distress suffered by one who is unable to cope with the rapidity of social and technological changes.” Sensory overload is another way of putting it. However, I have found that blogging is self limiting in its effect, and I stop writing when I no longer have something to say. In any event, those who predict the death of blogging are wrong. Proof is in the pages of LexBlog, the largest aggregator of law blogs in the world, and growing all the time. Thanks, Kevin O’Keefe, for introducing me to this magical way for connecting with the rest of the world.
