Alabama Appleseed Center for Law & Justice
The Alabama Appleseed Center for Law & Justice is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing systemic injustices within Alabama's legal and prison systems. It focuses on advocating for prison reform, supporting formerly incarcerated individuals, and promoting human rights through legal representation, research, and community engagement. The organization highlights issues such as excessive incarceration, parole advocacy, prison conditions, and the overdose crisis within correctional facilities. It also organizes events to raise awareness and support for legislative reforms and reentry services. Alabama Appleseed combines legal work with storytelling and cultural initiatives to foster hope, redemption, and systemic change in Alabama's justice system.
