After years of rumors and high hopes, the USCIS has finally announced that Canadian and Mexican citizens applying for TN status may be admitted for up to three years at a time. Previously, they were limited to one-year renewable increments. The TN visa category, created as part of the North American Free-Trade Agreement (NAFTA), allows certain Canadian and Mexican professionals to work lawfully in the United States for US employers.
