In order to assist local school districts in promoting high quality school health services, the Connecticut State Department of Education has released comprehensive guidance for school nursing practice. The guidance, entitled “Competency in School Nurse Practice,” addresses school nurse competencies, supervision and evaluation. Similar to, and intended to align with, Connecticut’s Common Core of Teaching, the publication provides a comprehensive framework for best practices in school nursing.
