On January 12, Antitrust/Torts/Products Risk Management partner Bridget Calhoun presented “Making the Most of ‘Green’ Marketing” to the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) General Counsel’s Forum in NYC.  Bridget discussed the Federal Trade Commission’s new proposed revisions to its’ “Green Guides” on the use of environmental marketing claims – a hot topic for advertisers.  The FTC issued proposed revisions to its Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims in October 2010 and final Guides are expected any day now.  In her presentation, Bridget addressed the FTC’s proposed guidance on the use of general environmental marketing claims, the standards for recyclable claims, use of certificates and seals of approval, use of renewable energy and materials claims, and others as well as provided practical tips for compliance.   Click here for a copy of Bridget’s slides.
