Gollo Desserts of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling its Pan Dominicano (Dominican Bread) because the package does not disclose milk as an ingredient, New York State Agriculture Commissioner Darrel J. Aubertine announced Monday.

Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ food inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by the New York State Food Laboratory revealed the product contained milk allergens, which were not declared on the label, Aubertine said.

No adverse reactions have been reported. People who have severe sensitivity to milk may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume milk.

The recalled “Pan Dominicano (Dominican Bread)” is packaged in a 7-ounce clear plastic bag containing 6 pieces of bread. The bag is labeled with a UPC code of 96321-00220. The product was sold in the NYC metro area, Long Island, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Consumers can return the recalled Pan Dominicano (Dominican Bread) to the place of purchase. For more information contact Gollo Desserts Bakery at 718-386-4110.
