As many of you know, the AGC’s Oregon-Columbia Chapter Summer Convention is this week at Salishan in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. The convention provides an opportunity for the AGC to continue its mission to provide members with a forum for the exchange of ideas and services designed to enhance the professionalism of the construction energy. It also provides an opportunity to earn Construction Contractors Board continuing education credits and network with the best contractors in the industry. My partner Jeff Condit, an experienced public contracts attorney, will be moderating a panel on “Getting the Work: What Public Owners Look For to Choose a Contractor.” The panel of key decision-makers from several prominent public agencies, including Portland State University, Portland Community College, Port of Portland, and Beaverton School District, will discuss how contractors can be most competitive in being selected for and performing public-works projects in Oregon.
