Hogan Lovells’ International Arbitration practice, with more than 130 practitioners worldwide and present in all major arbitral centers, was ranked as the fourth most active international arbitration practice by Global Arbitration Review at its annual GAR 30 awards dinner held in Paris on 12 February 2014.
The results of the survey demonstrate our deep bench of experience, cross-office work, and commitment to client service. The practice continues to increase the number of mandates in complex and high-value arbitrations, including “bet-the-company” matters. Global Arbitration Review also noted that our increasing focus on Africa and Latin America had strengthened our practice.
An important component of the GAR 30 survey is client feedback. One client was quoted as saying, “What distinguishes the team is its consistency and reliability in terms of technical quality, ability to get to grips with the commercial context, and the ease of their working relationship with other internal and external lawyers.” Hogan Lovells continues to grow its international arbitration practice by responding to client needs and ensuring the team is present wherever our clients’ interests are — whether if it is through having a local presence or ample sector or market experience.
The rankings are based on several criteria, including the number of merit and jurisdictional hearings, the number of settlements, the number of hours billed to arbitration, the number of lawyers ranked in the International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration, and the number of arbitral appointments team members are handling.
