Awareness of FTC Actions Critical for Israeli Ad-Tech Companies Going Global

As the Israeli Ad-Tech industry continues to grow and expand its global footprint, its market participants need to be keenly aware of critical legal trends, many of which are initiated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the federal governing body that oversees advertising and marketing regulations throughout the United States.

This GT Alert – FTC Aims to Improve Disclosures Needed in Ads to Avoid Misleading Consumers – is a good example of the consumer protectionist agenda which the FTC pursues. The author, Irving Scher, senior counsel in Greenberg Traurig’s New York office, discusses warning letters sent by the FTC to more than 60 companies claiming that the companies failed to make adequate disclosures in their TV and print ads, and a press release related to these claims.
