Jeremy’s recent pro bono trip to Kenya was covered in a recent article in the Jerusalem Post (which was carried in various other North American publications). Jeremy participated in this unique experience, in conjunction with DLA Piper’s pro bono affiliate, New Perimeter, as one of the instructors in a course designated to teach approximately 40 East African governmental and in-house attorneys on the nuances of international negotiations and the art of deal-making between developed companies in the West with local developing markets, as found throughout East Africa. This underscores a recent strong trend reflecting an increasing number of international conglomerates investing in sub-Saharan Africa and expanding in that region to tap into the significant growth potential. And this trip certainly coincides with a renewed expanded business focuses between Israel and several East African countries, following Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit to the region in early June.
