“Boyka: Undisputed” Mass Torrent Suits in Seattle District Court (UPDATED 10/21/17)

Continuing a nation-wide campaign of “troll-style” copyright litigation, several BitTorrent lawsuits were filed by UN4 Productions, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.

These suits allege BitTorrent-based copyright infringement of the 2016 action flick Boyka: Undisputed, also known as Undisputed IV, which stars Scott Adkins as an MMA fighter grappling with the fallout from an accidental death in the ring.  As of this posting, the film has a 58% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with known media critics apparently declining to review it.

As Troll Defense reported earlier, UN4 Productions is connected with Nu Image/Millennium Films, which has been associated with countless prior BitTorrent lawsuits, including those involving films such as Mechanic: Resurrection, London Has Fallen, Criminal, Automata, The Humbling, The Expendables, Charlie Countryman and Bad Lieutenant.

The new Boyka lawsuits  allege copyright infringement by dozens of “Doe” parties through their use of BitTorrent file-sharing software. Along with generic allegations of BitTorrent-based copyright infringement, the suits seek statutory damages pursuant to the Copyright Act, attorney’s fees and costs, and an injunction against further infringement.

Like other BitTorrent actions filed in the same Seattle court, these complaints were signed by David Lowe of Lowe Graham Jones. A case listing with links to the complaints is below.

Parties and subscribers receiving ISP notices of these actions can contact attorney Benjamin Justus for a free consultation regarding possible options.
