On October 31, 2017, we co-hosted a Global M&A event – “Global M&A Trials, Trends, Tribulations, and Triumphs” – with Gornitzky & Co. (one of the top Israeli law firms) at the beautiful sea-view conference center located in the Royal Beach Tel Aviv. Jon Kenworthy, a Partner in our London office and Co-Chair of the firm’s M&A Group, presented an overview of DLA Piper’s 2017 Global M&A Intelligence Report, which analyzes over 1,000 private M&A deals over the last 3 years and offers a unique insight into current trends in M&A. Chaim Friedland, a Partner at Gornitzky, offered the Israeli perspective. The program also included an in-depth introduction into transactional liability insurance presented by Josh Cowen, a M&A Manager with UK Private Equity at AIG.
The program concluded with a high-level Dealmakers Panel, moderated by Koby Tanzer, Senior VP and Head of the Israel office at Imperial Capital. The panel focused on critical issues affecting M&A transactions, including the current global environment in the macro, private equity vs. corporate driven M&A, and all stages of a deal, from the planning phase through the process and negotiations and post-merger issues and integration. Our incredibly impressive panelists included Moshe Friedman, Director Corporate Development at Amdocs; Nadav Zohar, Global Head of Corporate Development at Gett; Inbar Schwartz, VP of Business Development at Delta Galil; and Marc Lesnick, Partner at Fortissimo Capital.
