On Friday, Nov. 1, and as discussed in a previous Hot Off the Hill blog post, President Trump nominated Dr. Stephen Hahn, Chief Executive of the MD Anderson Cancer Center, for FDA Commissioner.
HHS Secretary Alex Azar also announced leadership changes to complement the president’s announcement.
This action brings significant executive leadership change into the FDA currently in the midst of myriad issues including flu season, an opioid epidemic, a vaping illness outbreak, medical device safety, food safety, and many other matters.
