My Paycheck is about to be garnished and My Car is about to repossessed! HOW Can I get my Bankruptcy Case File Fast?

Most of us wait until the last minute for lots of unpleasant things. Like emptying the dishwasher, folding the laundry, scheduling that dentist appointment, and calling a bankruptcy attorney. What are some things you can do to make sure the attorney can file your case as soon as possible? Get the following:
- The last 6 months paystubs for my household partner/spouse and myself
- The last 6 months of bank statements for all accounts in your name
- Tax returns or transcripts for the last 4 years
- Vehicle registration or all vehicles in you or your spouse’s name
- Proof of full-coverage insurance on all vehicle(s) in your name
- List of all creditors (including student loans, taxes, persons to whom you pay child support or alimony, credit card debts, personal loans, medical debt, mortgage and car loans)
- List of any prior bankruptcy Ch 13 or Ch 7 cases filed in any state within the last 10 years
Why should you have to have all of this? These items allow your attorney to quickly and accurately assess whether you can file a Ch 7 or Ch 13. With all these docs in hand, your bankruptcy attorney can tell you within the first 30 minute of your consultation which route is best for you. Although online accounts, payroll, and file-sharing has made it easy and fast to download these docs within minutes, it’s still important to meet with your attorney even if you are not able to have all the above docs in tow.
