Today, the California Office of the Attorney General (OAG) released much-anticipated revisions to its proposed implementing regulations to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

The following were issued by the OAG on its website:

  • A notice of modifications to the text of the proposed regulations;
  • A redlined version of the revised regulations, showing the differences from the initially proposed rules;
  • A clean version of the revised regulations; and
  • A listing of additional technical, theoretical, and/or empirical studies, reports and documents the OAG relied upon during the rulemaking process.

The OAG will accept written comments regarding the proposed changes or materials added to the rulemaking file until Monday, February 24, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. PST.

The Greenberg Traurig Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity team is already reviewing the revised proposed regulations. Please check back on the Data Privacy Dish blog for further analysis, or contact us if you would like assistance in drafting comments for submission.
