North Port FL – Florida Highway Patrol announced one person was seriously hurt after being involved in a crash on Interstate 75 Tuesday night.
The crash took place as a 53-year-old man from North Miami Beach was driving a tow-truck northbound on I-75 approaching the exit ramp at Toledo Blade Boulevard in the right lane.
At 12:49:00 PM, one of the tires on the tow truck exploded, throwing the vehicle out of control.
After the tire blew out, the truck veered to the left and traveled across the roadway to the left lane. Then the tow truck veered back the other way and drove back across the highway to the right side, where it continued onto the shoulder rotating off the road in a clockwise direction.
The tow truck then overturned before finally coming to a stop against a tree.
