This week at LexBlog, we were excited to welcome six new blogs to our network. Featured below are two individual bloggers who offer experienced, unique perspectives on technology during a largely virtual age. Additionally, three different firms have contributed new publications, and an international community member has joined the network.

Ryan N. Phelan is the author of PatentNext, a blog devoted to patent and intellectual property law. Ryan is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney and Software and Computer Engineer with experience in the IT industry working with Fortune 500 companies on software and online issues. He brings this experience to his current work at Marshall Gerstein, his writing in several prestigious publications, and his blog.

Jerry Lawson is leader in the world of legal tech. After years of working as a civil service lawyer, Jerry has returned to the legal tech field to serve as President of New Strategies in Legal Tech LLC. He also has extensive experience in legal marketing and has served as a charter member of the American Bar Association’s eLawyering group. His familiarity with legal tech shows in his personable and informative blog, New Ideas Legal Tech. Since retiring from practicing and launching the blog, he has also set up a personal blog entitled Netlawtools, where he shares his personal musings on legal tech topics.

New publications from three different firms have also entered the LexBlog network:

  • Kirakosian Law – This Los Angeles-based person injury firm has covered some of the most high-profile cases in the country and provides regular updates on personal injury matters.
  • Gardner Law Firm PC – Several attorneys at this estate planning and probate litigation firm author the blog Probate in Iowa, providing localized coverage on issues such as estate administration and wills contest.
  • Kantor & Kantor – Already LexBlog members, Kantor & Kantor have added another blog to the network; Your ERISA Watch covers judicial and legislative updates on employee benefit plans.

And finally, Athens Legal Hackers is a group of lawyers, policy makers, and technologists, that organize and work towards advancing data, privacy, artificial intelligence, and the intersection of law and tech.
