Beginning on July 1, 2022, New Mexico will join 15 other states (and Washington, D.C.) in requiring private employers to provide paid sick leave to their employees. On April 8, 2021, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed House Bill 20, thereby enacting the Healthy Workplaces Act (HWA).
